gift card envelope

My sister was giving her friend a gift card for her birthday and I decided to make an easy, fast, and cute envelope for it! Here's how I did it...

Supplies needed:
-craft paper (double sided is best)
-stickers or washi tape
-scissors
-ruler
-pencil
-gift card

1 - Cut the craft paper to 4 1/2 inches by 6 inches. Feel free to cut a little bit extra for space and to be sure that the gift card will fit.

2 - With the paper vertical, measure 2 1/4 inches from the bottom and mark with a pencil. From the top, measure 1 3/4 inches and mark with a pencil.

]3 - Place the gift card between the top and bottom lines that you just marked. Try to make it as even as you can on the sides and mark the side edges. Fold inward on the gift card sides.

5 - With the top and bottom lines we drew at the beginning, fold the bottom up and then the top down on top of that fold.

6 - Slide the gift card in to make sure it fits and fix the folds as needed to make the edges even and the right size.

& last of all, place a sticker on the front to hold it closed.

Now you'll have your gift card envelope/holder!

Another idea I had was to punch small holes in the sides of the inside, bring them to the front lid where you would punch two small holes and bring string or twine through to tie it closed in the front. That would make the bottom pocket so it could move in and out on the string.

I hope you like this idea! Comment below if you try this craft!
